Der Switch ezRemote Client vereint die Funktionen des "Switch SMB Client" und "Switch FTP Client" und ersetzt diese dabei.

Wenn nur eine einzelne Datei kopiert/verschoben/etc. wird, muss diese nicht mehr extra mit "Y" markiert werden. Lokale Dateien können nun auch ausgeschnitten, kopiert und eingefügt werden, ein Text-Editor wurde hinzugefügt und es ist nun möglich, sich mit WebDAV-Servern zu verbinden.

Dank der standardmäßigen Deaktivierung von erweiterten Schriftarten bootet NX-Shell nun schneller. Auch wurde ein Bug beim Umbenennen behoben und beim Unmouten eines USB-Gerätes wird automatisch auf die SD gewechselt.

Diese Version unterstützt nun das Durchsuchen von USB-Geräten. Denkt daran, zuerst "Unmount USB devices" in den Einstellungen von NX-Shell zu drücken, wenn ihr ein USB-Gerät absteckt.

Aufgrund einiger tiefgreifender Änderungen ist das Extrahieren von ZIPs zurzeit nicht möglich, genauso wie das Einstellen der Sprache.

Die Oberfläche wurde stark verbessert – so kann nun direkt mit einem Klick auf den Tabellenkopf sortiert werden und die Einstellungen werden in einem eigenen Tab angezeigt. Mehr im Changelog.

Neu ist der Unicode-Support und damit die Unterstützung von Akzenten, kyrillisch, ひらがな und カタカナ. Die Zeichen lassen sich auch eingeben, wenn der Unicode-Codepoint im Nummernfeld eingegeben und "U+" gedrückt wird. Außerdem lässt sich die "certs.db" mounten, ein Raw Cart-Dumper lässt sich mit "R+A" aufrufen, während das Cart-"Laufwerk" ausgewählt ist und SHA-1-Checksummen werden unterstützt. Wie immer wurden auch einige Fehler behoben.

3DShell ist wieder als CIA verfügbar und der Updater beachtet auch, ob von dieser gestartet wurde. Archive (7Z, RAR und ZIP) lassen sich wieder entpacken und der Vorgang lässt sich auch abbrechen. Wenn der Developer-Modus deaktiviert ist, wird außerdem der NAND-Zugriff blockiert.

Ferner wurden zahlreiche kleinere Verbesserungen vorgenommen – mehr im Changelog.

Der Versionssprung auf die nächste Major-Verison bedeutet einen Rewrite für den Dateimanager, was leider auch heißt, dass einige Features entfernt werden mussten. So wurden bspw. FTP, der Musikplayer, Screenshots und der Archiv-Support vorerst entfernt. Der Player soll eventuell sogar gar nicht mehr zurückkommen und Screenshots kann Luma3DS von Haus aus anlegen. Der Hauptgrund für das Update ist, dass die letzte Version einen schwerwiegenden Fehler hatte, der beim Löschen eines Verzeichnisses die ganze SD-Karte löschen konnte.

Kommen wir zu den guten Nachrichten: Der Dateibrowser zeigt nun zehn statt fünf Dateien an und der Cursor funktioniert wie er soll. Eigenschaften von Bildern lassen sich mit "X" betrachten und die Anzeige des freien Speichers ist wieder zurück. Durch den Rewrite wurden auch viele Änderungen unter der Haube durchgeführt, die für ein stabileres Erlebnis sorgen.

* File browser now displays twice as many files as previous versions (5 -> 10).
* Selector now properly follows input and doesn't just stay at the bottom of the screen.
* 3DShell's screenshot feature has been completely removed. (Rosalina already has a screenshot function so we don't need this here).
* There are no longer any nightly updates. The updates option in settings will instead download and install the latest release from GitHub if your application is not up to date.
* Storage bar is back.
* When viewing an image you can press "X" to view some properties like the name, width and height.
* Removed many unused assets and compressed a few (file icons are a lot smaller now) icons.
* A lot of under the hood changes, clean-ups that aren't necessary to list here.

Neben dem Entpacken von ZIP-Archiven lassen sich die Informationen von Bilddateien betrachten und Logging aktivieren. Einige Abstürze und kleinere Fehler wurden auch plattgemacht; so lassen sich nun alle BMP-Dateien fehlerfrei anzeigen.

* Now uses Use libnsbmp to decode BMP files. (This fixes issues loading certain BMP files).
* Disabled window padding when displaying images so that the full screen images (1280x720) aren't bound to a scroll bar.

* Added an option under settings to toggle filename display when viewing images.
* Added an option under settings to toggle logs. (Any failed FS functions will be logged if this option is enabled. Useful for debugging purposes). A restart of the application is required if this is enabled/disabled.
* Initial implementation of a text reader for reading logs/configs (eventually to evolve into to an editor).

Der Bildbetrachter kann jetzt noch mehr Formate öffnen und Checkboxen wurden hinzugefügt, um mehrere Dateien auszuwählen. Die GUI wurde überarbeitet, Abstürze und Bugs behoben und eine Fortschrittsleiste zum Kopiervorgang hinzugefügt. Auch zeigt eine Leiste den freien Speicherplatz auf dem Gerät an.

Das HID-Update für die Firmware v9.0.0+ wurde eingespielt und einige Fehler behoben. So wird die Konsole nicht mehr in den Standby-Modus geschaltet, während der FTP-Server, Datenübertragungen oder der Audio-Player laufen und der "Abbrechen"-Button in den Einstellungen funktioniert jetzt wie erwartet.

Der eBook-Reader musste leider entfernt werden, da es lange keine Updates mehr für das Modul gab und joel sich wenig mit dem Code auskennt, da er nicht von ihm stammt. Dafür wurde NX-Shell auf den gleichen Stand wie 3DShell gebracht.

So werden die Audioformate IT, OPUS, S3M und XM unterstützt und Metadaten angezeigt, falls vorhanden. Auch lässt sich im Audioplayer frei per Touchscreen spulen. Libarchive wurde integriert und NX-Shell unterstützt somit die Extrahierung von ISO, AR und XAR. Der Bildbetrachter unterstützt Bilder im WebP-Format und einige Fehler wurden behoben – darunter auch einer, der zu einem Absturz auf der Firmware 7.0.0+ führte.

Der Bildbetrachter wurde überarbeitet und kann auch nicht animierte GIFs anzeigen. Cover aus ID3v2-Tags bei MP3-Dateien werden angezeigt, falls vorhanden und einige Fehler wurden behoben. Näheres im Changelog unten.

Es kann übrigens direkt von 3DShell aus aktualisiert werden, wenn das Download-Icon berührt wird.

Die offizielle Software-Tastatur wird jetzt benutzt und das Kopieren von/zu anderen Mountpunkten funktioniert nun auch. Der freie Speicher wird korrekt angezeigt, ebenso wie die Fortschrittsleisten. Zu guter Letzt werden noch Cover-Bilder für MP3-Dateien angezeigt, wenn diese in den ID3v2-Tags vorhanden sind.

* Now uses official software keyboard with text validation for creating/renaming folders and files.
* Refactored FS code to support copying to/from other mount points. (copying files now uses internal fs functions)
* Properly get free/max storage for each partition using FS rather than NS.
* Fixed progress bar from incorrectly blending into the background.
* Update SDL_FontCache to v0.10 and revert back to using the Roboto font - which now properly displays accented characters such as é.

Vor dem Update muss die Config-Datei unter "/3DS/3DShell/config.cfg" gelöscht werden! Spätere Releases handhaben dies automatisch.

RAR-Dateien können extrahiert und Bilder rangezoomt werden. Ein "More…"-Menüpunkt wurde hinzugefügt, mit dem das aktuelle Verzeichnis neu geladen, sowie neue Dateien erstellt werden können. Ein simpler Textdateien-Leser ist jetzt ebenfalls mit an Board und die Unterstützung von OPUS und etliche weitere Fehler wurden behoben.

Hierbei handelt es sich um die erste stabile Version von NX-Shell! Aus diesem Grund sollte der "/switch/NX-Shell/" Ordner vor einem Update gelöscht werden.

NX-Shell nutzt jetzt Hardwarebeschleunigung zum Zeichnen der Oberfläche; außerdem werden veraltete Config-Dateien automatisch gelöscht. Des Weiteren werden die Rechte einer Datei angezeigt und andere User-Partitionen lassen sich durchsuchen. Die Dateiliste lässt sich neu laden und eine neue Datei erstellen, außerdem kann (wenn die Developer Optionen aktiviert sind) das Archiv-Bit gesetzt werden. Zu guter Letzt wurde die Steuerung für den Book-Reader verbessert und einige Fehler behoben.
