3D ohne Brille – mit diesem Konzept gelang Nintendo 2011 ein würdiger Nachfolger für den Nintendo DS. Bis heute hat sich der Nintendo 3DS über 75 Millionen Mal verkauft. 2015 erschien hierzulande der "New Nintendo 3DS" – eine schnellere Version mit einem zusätzlichen Stick und zwei weiteren Schultertasten.

Jahrelang schien Homebrew unerreichbar – Nintendo hatte gegenüber der Wii definitiv dazu gelernt. Anfangs war nur eine alte Firmware per Flashcard hackbar, bis im November 2014 "NINJHAX" veröffentlicht wurde, mit dem zum ersten Mal Homebrew ohne Zusatz-Hardware (aber mit Spiel) ausgeführt werden konnte. Zahlreiche Exploits folgten, bis im August 2017 mit "ntrboothax" der "heilige Gral" erschien, mit der sich jeder 3DS auf jeder Firmware sowohl modden, als auch unbricken lässt.

Zwischenzeitlich drohte sich die Community aufzuspalten, was glücklicherweise nur von kurzer Dauer war.

Auf die microSD der Acekard 2i kann nun direkt zugegriffen werden. Dazu muss das Flashcard Pack extrahiert und der Ordner für "Slot-1" auf die microSD der Flashkarte kopiert werden. Das funktioniert auch für die R4 Ultra und wahrscheinlich auch die DS-XTreme und der originalen R4.

To run retail games from the flashcard, you need to download the flashcard pack, and extract what's in for Slot-1 microSD to the root of the flashcard's microSD card.
As of this release, 2 flashcards are supported for direct access:

* Acekard 2(i)'s DLDI driver has been added for direct flashcard support.
It is not confirmed to work with this flashcard yet.
To test it with your AK2(i), enable Slot-1 microSD access in the settings, then touch the cart icon in the ROM menu.
If the location is now Slot-1 microSD card after the sound played isn't the "launch" sound, then the flashcard is successfully read!
If you're stuck on a white screen, then hold start after launching this app and before the ROM menu appears, then turn off the setting.
* When using this app on a flashcard, you no longer need to set the flashcard manually, as it now checks the flashcard via DLDI friendly name.

Neben einigen Design-Fixes gibt es jetzt auch ein Nintendo-Switch-Theme, welches ein Unter-Theme von Acekard ist und ein neues Icon. Der Flashkarten-Zugriff ist nun optional, da es daran schuld war, dass Infrarot mit NDS-Bootstrap und das Acekard-Theme nicht funktionierten.

Frogminer: Kostenlos CFW auf der aktuellen 3DS-Firmware (11.8 + 11.9) installieren

zoogie hat Frogminer für den Nintendo 3DS veröffentlicht. Damit ist es möglich, kostenlos auf der aktuellen Firmware und ohne Zusatzgeräte eine Custom Firmware zu installieren.

UPDATE: 11.9 funktioniert ebenfalls. Bitte checkt die Download-Seite für zukünftige Updates.

Alles was ihr dazu braucht, ist das kostenlose Spiel "Steel Diver: Sub Wars" aus dem Nintendo eShop. Anschließend müsst ihr dem "steelminer"-Guide folgen, damit aus dem sekundären Exploit ein primärer wird (außerdem wird die movable.sed aus dem Tutorial benötigt).

Danach kann dem Frogminer-Guide gefolgt werden. Hier wird eine japanische Kopie von "Flipnote Studio" in die "DS Download Play" Applikation injiziert. Mithilfe von DSiWareHax wird zu guter Letzt b9sTool ausgeführt und boot9strap installiert.

Das DSiMenu++ heißt ab sofort "TWiLight Menu++" (oder "TWLMenu++"). Bitte nicht vergessen die Launcher-CIA zu aktualisieren und den Ordner "SD://_nds/dsimenuplusplus" zu "TWiLightMenu" umzubenennen!

Neu sind ein Monster Hunter Generations Acekard-Subtheme und ein Mac-artiges R4-Subtheme. Von Slot-1 wird nicht mehr gebootet, wenn keine Cartridge eingelegt ist und ein Reboot ist nicht mehr vonnöten, wenn die Einstellungen verlassen werden. Auch wurde der "Guru Meditation" Fehler im Acekard-Theme behoben.

Bei NDS-Bootstrap wurde lediglich ein Fehler behoben, bei dem Spiele nicht starteten, wenn der Ladebildschirm auf "None" gesetzt war.

Lags in einigen Spielen, darunter Metroid Prime Pinball, GTA Chinatown Wars, Sonic Classic Collection und Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver/Schwarz/Weiß/Schwarz 2/Weiß 2, wurden behoben. Außerdem funktionieren einige Spiele wieder, die mit der vorherigen Version nicht gingen.

Die zuletzt gestartete ROM kann nun automatisch gestartet werden (was vorher nur auf dem DSi per DSiWareHax funktionierte) und ein Fehler wurde behoben, bei dem die Einstellung zum Setzen der TWL-/NTR-Taktrate vertauscht war. Nur die globalen Einstellungen waren betroffen, also muss nur hier die Einstellung erneut geprüft werden.

* The option where the last-ran ROM is autobooted, now works outside of DSiWarehax.
* Fixed bug where setting TWL clock speed would use NTR clock speed, and vice-versa, by reversing the text order. (Per-game settings menu does not have this bug.)
Please re-set the setting in the settings screen.

Die "async prefetch" Option wurde entfernt und dafür eine "DSi-Mode" Einstellung hinzugefügt. Diese funktioniert jedoch noch nicht mit SDK5 DSi-erweiterten Spielen (wie Pokémon Schwarz/Weiß 1&2).

Die neue Version von NDS-Bootstrap ist im Download von DSiMenu++ bereits enthalten.

Nintendo hat die Nintendo Direct über kommende Switch- und 3DS-Spiele, die am 07. September hätte stattfinden sollen und wegen des Erdbebens in Hokkaido verschoben wurde, auf diesen Freitag, 14. September 2018 um 00:00 Uhr verschoben.

Sie wird also am Freitag, dem 14. September 2018 um 00:00 Uhr auf der Nintendo-Webseite ausgestrahlt. Das ist die Nacht von Donnerstag auf Freitag. Laufzeit sind ca. 35 Minuten.

Das AKAIO-Theme ist jetzt ein Unter-Theme vom Acekard-Theme und das Umschalten zur Flashkarte aus der letzten Version funktioniert nur noch mit der R4 Ultra. Auch wurden einige bekannte Fehler, wie Abstürze und ein "Guru Meditation" Bildschirm, behoben.

* The AKAIO theme is now bundled as an Acekard subtheme. Select Adv.EvoI in settings.
* The flashcard switch feature now only works with the R4 Ultra (www.r4ultra.com), as the other flashcards mentioned in v6.1.0 would either simply not work, or cause a white screen crash.

Bug fixes
* Fixed some known bugs, such as crashing when launching a game using the DSi, 3DS, or R4 theme, and the Guru Meditation Error screen appearing when trying to open per-game settings in those themes.

Das Update-Menü unterstützt nun Touch-Eingaben und der Musikplayer lässt sich sperren, wenn der START-Knopf gedrückt wird, was das Skippen des aktuellen Musiktitels mit L/R verhindert, wenn der 3DS zugeklappt wird. Der obere Bildschirm wird im FTP-Modus ausgeschaltet, um Akku zu sparen und einige Fehler wurden ausgemerzt. Näheres im Changelog.

Diese Version fügt das Acekard-/Wood-Theme und weitere Farben für das DSi-Menü-Theme hinzu. Des Weiteren kann nun direkt auf Flashkarten zugegriffen werden, wenn das Steuerkreuz hoch/runter (DSi-/3DS-Theme) oder R (R4-Theme) gedrückt wird – dies funktioniert allerdings nicht mit jeder Karte. DSiWare kann jetzt auch von Flashkarten gestartet werden.

Bei Problemen bitte die settings.ini löschen!

Place your theme in sd:/_nds/dsimenuplusplus/akmenu/theme, and go into DSiMenu++ Settings to use it.
* Red, blue, green, yellow, pink, and purple colors have been added to the DSi Menu theme!
* Flashcard can now be accessed if you're running DSiMenu++ from the SD card, and can be used as a secondary device!
You can press Up/Down (DSi/3DS theme) or the R button (R4 theme) to switch between the SD and flashcard at any time.
The only downsides are that they shouldn't spoof a commercial game (with it's icon being used), and it has to make the console autoboot into it, or else the flashcard cannot be accessed/supported.
These flashcards are supported:
-DS-Xtreme (Untested. Unknown if it will work.)
-DSTT (Untested. Should work.)
-Original R4 (Untested. Should work.)
-R4 Ultra (Works.)
* DSiWare can also be launched from a flashcard, if DSiMenu++ is started from the SD card. (Requires Unlaunch on DSi.)
It works by copying it to the SD card, so Unlaunch can run it.
After saving in the DSiWare game/app, please start DSiMenu++ again to transfer the save data back to the flashcard.
* Further improvements to overall app stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.
